Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company (BIPC) is located on a land area of about 270 hectares, on the northwestern side of the Persian Gulf in Khuzestan province, 105 km southeast of Ahvaz and 84 km east of Abadan in Bandar-e- Mahshahr city.
Ease of access to feed stocks, fuel and raw materials, uses of road facilities, railway network and maritime transport, the existence of an airport, and access to the required water are main features that justify the choice of this place. It is important to mention the assistance to the development of Khuzestan province as one of the two major poles of the Petrochemical industries in the country, creating added value, and preventing the flaring of associated petroleum gas as other features of this area.
